The Naked Truth: What Are You Saying About Sexuality and Christian Faith?
Not in tune with what
Pope Benedict, Mark Driscoll (Mars Hill) or Kim
Kardasian are communicating about sexuality these days?
What are you saying? Turning the other cheek on this
issue won’t due: saying nothing about human sexuality
and Christian faith sends a loud message and might not
be the one you mean to be sending.
This workshop is for
pastors and lay leaders, Christian educators and youth
ministers. The focus is the messages we receive about
sexuality and the messages we give. We want to help you
think through and craft a faith-based, culturally-aware,
and Jesus-shaped message about human sexuality for your
congregation and community.
This workshop will focus
on:
- The messages you got about sexuality growing up and
from your background,
- The messages and wisdom of Scripture about sexuality
and relationships,
- The messages of contemporary culture and the subtle
and not-so-subtle ways they are communicated,
- A faith message about sexuality rooted in the core
values of the Our Whole Lives curriculum and training,
and finally, and most important,
- Your message about sexuality and faith, and how and
where you effectively communicate it.
The workshop is led by sex educators/youth workers/people of faith Kmbris and Kendal Bond, Amy Johnson, and
CLN founder, Tony Robinson.
Cost: $30
per person or $25 per person for groups of three or more
from same congregation.
